One venue which no doubt has all its nightclub insurance in place is Gatecrasher in Birmingham.
It has just won the accolade of being declared the City’s top boozer. The competition was organised by the Birmingham City Council to find the City’s boozer which, in their eyes, was doing a great job in promoting responsible drinking. Criteria was over exuberance and stopping drink related crime, plus a well organised operation, including correct nightclub insurance.
Gatecrashers is situated in Birmingham City centre on Broad Street and picked up its award, Best Bar None 2010, at a gala evening held at the Birmingham International Convention Centre.
The awards assessors were made up of representatives from the council, West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service.
A total of ten awards were up for grabs during the evening, including best suburban pub and best hotel bar; also there was a gong for the People’s Choice.
Gatecrashers is only two years old, but it also got the best nightclub award, beating such luminaries as Flares in Broad Street, Southside’s O2 Academy, Reflex clubs in Sutton Coldfield, the Arcadian in Broad Street; Air in Digbeth; and, Risa in Broad Street.
The director of Regulatory Service at Birmingham City Council, Jacqui Kennedy, said:
“We are so proud to be involved in the licence trade in Birmingham, all these venues take their responsibility selling alcohol very seriously and these awards go some way to reflect that.”
She no doubt forgot to mention the great nightclub insurance the club has.
